Polymer Technologies has been supplying the agriculture, construction, and mining industries for many years. Typical applications include materials for cabs and engine compartments for vehicles ranging in size from skid steer loaders and backhoes to combines and haulers.
Engine Compartment & Firewalls
The goal of using composites in engine compartments is to reduce the noise and thermal transmission to operators within cabs. Products typically used in these applications include Polydamp® Acoustical Foams with barrier composites or damping materials. Additionally, Polymer Technologies heat shields and other thermal insulation materials are used to protect areas within the compartments from high heat sources such as exhaust pipes and turbo chargers. Applications for these products include hood liners, side walls, and firewalls.
Doors, Service Hatches, & Intake/Exhaust Plenums
Polydamp® floor mats are used to reduce noise transmitted through the floor of vehicle cabs and are available with highly durable wear surfaces. Interior trim materials utilizing acoustical foams or Polyform® molded urethanes are used for both cosmetic and acoustical insulation, reducing the noise within the environment. Molded and 2-dimensional headliner parts are available, and a variety of different types of facings and fabrics can be used for both cosmetic and functional purposes. We've also worked with molded fiberglass panels when appropriate. In addition, we can design bumper pads and crash pads that can be molded out of the urethane foam’s integral skin product, which are available with different textures and surface finishes - and even custom logos.
