Polydamp® Hydrophobic Melamine Foam (PHM)

Polydamp Hydrophobic Melamine Foam

Polydamp® Hydrophobic Melamine Foam (PHM) is an enhanced version of PMF, offering exceptional water-resistance properties, previously unattainable with standard melamine foam, while maintaining all other key attributes. Floats indefinitely in water; water streams bead-up on surface and roll-off.

Normal Density 0.55 lbs/ft³
Temperature Range Continuous -300 to 356 deg F; intermittent to 492 deg F
Thermal Conductivity 0.25 btu-in/ft²-hr-deg F at 68 deg F; 0.23 at 50 deg F
Passes FAR 25.856a for Flame Propagation
Meets all FAA, BSS and AITM flame, smoke and toxicity requirements for aircraft insulation
Resilient to vibration and compression set (unlike solimide/polyimide foam and fiberglass)
Facings available: Reinforced and Metalized PEEK (1.5 oz/yd²), PEKK (1.0 oz/yd²) and Intumescent-coated Fiberglass facbrics (4.5 oz to 60 oz/yd²) films which meet all commercial aircraft flame requirements, along with Reinforced Aluminum Foils, Urethanes, and others
Fire-retardant and standard pressure sensitive adhesives also available for easy installation

Insulation applications include fuselage, bulkhead, interior panel (outboard side), ECS ducting, and many others.

Polydamp® Ultra-Lite Hydrophobic Melamine Foam

(PHM-UL)

Polydamp Ultra-lite Hydrophobic Melamine Foam

Polydamp® Ultra-Lite Hydrophobic Melamine Foam (PHM-UL) foam is a lightweight version of standard PHM, offering a roughly 40% reduction in density while continuing to exhibit the same exceptional resistance to heat and water, flame propagation, smoke generation, and toxicity.

Normal Density 0.375 lbs/ft³
Temperature Range Continuous -300 to 356 deg F; intermittent to 492 deg F
Thermal Conductivity 0.25 btu-in/ft²-hr-deg F at 68 deg F; 0.23 at 50 deg F

Insulation applications include fuselage, bulkhead, interior panel (outboard side), ECS ducting, and many others.

Polydamp® Melamine Foam (PMF)

Polydamp Melamine Foam

Polydamp® Melamine Foam (PMF) is an extremely lightweight insulation material which exhibits exceptional resistance to heat, low flame propagation and smoke. It possesses excellent thermal and acoustical insulation properties. PMF is hygroscopic and not typically suitable for applications in which it would not be encapsulated to prevent moisture penetration.

Normal Density 0.55 lbs/ft³
Temperature Range Continuous -300 to 356 deg F; intermittent to 492 deg F
Thermal Conductivity 0.25 btu-in/ft²-hr-deg F at 68 deg F; 0.23 at 50 deg F

Facings available: Reinforced and Metalized PEEK (1.5 oz/yd²), PEKK (1.0 oz/yd²) and Intumescent-coated Fiberglass facbrics (4.5 oz to 60 oz/yd²) films which meet all commercial aircraft flame requirements, along with Reinforced Aluminum Foils, Urethanes, and others
Pressure Sensitive Adhesives also available for easy installation - verification of FST requirements needed with substrate

Applications range from HVAC and ECS ducts to wall/fuselage insulation in aircraft, mass transit, and many others.

Polydamp® Mass Fabrics (PAB-H33XX)

Polydamp Mass Fabrics

Polydamp® Mass Fabrics (PAB-H33XX) are a family of lightweight acoustical barriers for use in aircraft applications, offering extreme resistance to flame propagation and burn through while providing equal acoustical attenuation (dBA) at lower weights than competitive materials. The mass-loaded fabrics are typically used in combination with Polydamp Hydrophobic Melamine Foams to increase acoustical insulation performance, long-term durability, and burn through resistance to potential fires.

Available in standard weights of 4.5, 20, 30, 40 and 60 oz/yd² weights
Passes FAR 25.856a for Flame Propagation
Meets all FAA, BSS and AITM flame, smoke and toxicity requirements for aircraft insulation
Extremely durable with breaking strengths over 110 lbs/in
Supplied alone or in composite form with Polydamp Hydrophobic Melamine Foams

Insulation applications include fuselage, overframe, bulkhead, interior panel (outboard side) and many others.
