Vibration Damping
Polydamp® Extensional Damping Pad

Polydamp® Extensional Damping Pad (EDP) is a lightweight, extensional damping composite with a viscoelastic surface and aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive backing designed to reduce resonant vibration and resulting airborne sound. Provides effective damping over a broad temperature and frequency range. Extremely durable, water resistant and odorless
Weighs 0.40 lbs/ft² at 0.078" thick |
Temperature Range: -22 deg F to 250 deg F |
Flammability: UL94 HBF; FMVSS-302 |
Available in combination with Polydamp® Acoustical Foams, Melamine Foams, and Barrier Composites for more effective noise control. |
Applications include any plastic or metal panel in resonance, within engine compartments, enclosures, cab wall, floor and ceiling systems, door panels, etc. |

Polydamp® V-0 Extensional Damping Pad

Polydamp® V-0 Extensional Damping Pad (EDPVO) is a UL94 V-0 listed, flexible extensional damping material, supplied with an adhesive backing, designed for controlling vibration and noise in products whose surfaces are at or near resonance.
Available in thickness from 0.035" to 0.18" thick |
Excellent damping performance from 50 deg F to 120 deg F |
Flammability: UL 94 V-0 listed |
Extremely resistant to aqueous solutions, petro-chemicals, and common industrial fluids |
Available in combination with Polydamp® Acoustical Foams, Melamine Foams, and Barrier Composites for more effective noise control. |
Applications include any plastic or metal panel in resonance, primarily in appliance and medical equipment where V-0 listed components are required, but also within engine compartments, enclosures, cab wall, floor and ceiling systems, door panels, etc. |

Polydamp® ADA

Polydamp® ADA is an impregnated viscoelastic material with high quality pressure sensitive adhesives on both sides used to bond two substrates, creating a damped structural composite or constrained layer damping system.
Weighs 0.40 lbs/ft² at 0.06" thick |
Temperature range: -22 deg F to 250 deg F |
Constrained damping system performance is much greater than extensional damping |
Sandwich construction greatly improves transmission loss of any wall system |
Reduces impact noise |
Extremely durable, water resistant and odorless |
Applications include bus and other equipment floors, firewalls, doors and cabinets. |

Polydamp® Viscodamp (PVD)
Polydamp® Viscodamp (PVD) is a thin elastomeric sheet designed for use as a constrained layer damping material between thick 6 mm (1/4") or thicker aluminum or steel plates to reduce resonant vibration/noise.
Standard thickness of 0.025" |
Temperature Range: -45 deg F to 350 deg F |
Excellent damping across broad temperature and frequency ranges |
Extremely durable and wear resistant |
Excellent resistance petro-chemicals and derivatives |
Available with an adhesive on one or both sides |
Applications include beams and plates on bridges, ships, seismic platforms, offshore oil platforms, heavy equipment and machinery. |

Polydamp® Spray Damp
Polydamp® Spray Damp (PSD) is an inorganically filled, water-based emulsion vibration damping compound, supplied in liquid form for spray or trowel-on application to substrates.
Liquified form allows for application on a variety of complex surfaces |
Non-toxic, non-flammable |
Meets ASTM E162 and E662 requirements for transit applications |
Completely cured within 24 hours |
Supplied in 5 gallon pails or 55 gallon drums |
Applications include any complex surface where traditional, extensional damping materials are impractical; traditionally used in transportation equipment walls, panels, etc. |
