Thermal insulation materials from Polymer Technologies

We supply a variety of thermal management solutions for manufacturers of vehicles and equipment. Composed of fire-resistant foil, our lightweight heat shields can be added to thermal insulation foam as a facing or used inside tubes and hoses. Heat reflective wraps are excellent for controlling temperature in heavy trucks, recreational vehicles, military vehicles, emergency vehicles, rail cars, buses, and more. POLYTECH® Heat Shield (HS)

POLYTECH® Heat Shield (HS-0035-ALVA3) is an aluminum foil-faced fiberglass fabric and PSA composite designed to reflect radiant heat while offering excellent protection to high heat exposure.

  • Extremely thin (0.035") and lightweight (2.3 oz/ft²) composite allows for use virtually anywhere
  • Temperature up to 1000°F in localized areas within a larger area of material
  • Highly polished foil reflects 98% of radiant energy
  • Extremely durable
  • Available as a facing on POLYDAMP® Melamine Foam (PMF) and other foams to increase temperature resistance and thermal insulation properties
  • Available with and without A3 adhesive backing.

Applications for our thermal heat shield material include gas tanks and any other areas exposed to extreme heat from exhaust pipes, turbos, and more.

POLYTECH® Heat Shield (AF)

POLYTECH® Heat Shield (AF-0020-A3) is a thermal reflective insulation material that offers excellent protection for metal and plastic surfaces. Developed from fabric with a high-temperature resistant PSA backing, our heat shields can withstand exposure up to 1000°F.

  • Temperature up to 1000°F in localized areas within a larger area of material

  • Available as a facing on POLYDAMP® Melamine Foam (PMF) and other foams to increase temperature resistance and thermal insulation properties
  • Available with and without A3 adhesive backing

POLYTECH® Heat Shield Tubing (HST)

POLYTECH® Heat Shield Tubing (HST) is an aluminum foil-faced fiberglass fabric composite designed to reflect radiant heat while offering excellent protection to high heat exposure. The material is sewn into a continuous tube and is available in a range of diameters up to 10”. Utility knives or commercial scissors can be used to cut heat shield tubing.

Applications for our thermal heat shield tubing include hoses, tubes, and other parts exposed to high heat and in need of thermal protection. Heat shield tubing is ideal for encapsulating hoses or wire bundles in engine compartments.
